Abstract :
Incorporating mobile device to engage M-learning has become one of the mainstreams. The study is based on incorporating computer technology into teaching activity on science and technology learning areas. To alleviate the predicaments of recording, communication, exchanging and instruction when outdoor teaching activities are engaged, the study has developed auxiliary collaborative learning multimedia mobile learning system (MMIS). Based on wireless Internet, multimedia functions are incorporated into PDA to record video and voice, to take pictures and to sketch. In addition, teacher´s instructions on the team members, discussion between peers, functions of data exchanging are enhanced, learning efficacy is therefore elevated when collaborative learning in outdoor teaching is engaged. The system was experimented on three 5th-grader classes, ninety students on science and technology learning areas in an elementary school of Taichung City of Taiwan. The statistics of the results reveal that times engaged in communication between team members are increased, which verifies the practicability of the system.
