Abstract :
An external cavity of 7 W-laser diode using a Fabry-Perot etalon to achieve dual-wavelength operation is presented in this paper. Two wavelengths at 796.47 nm and 798.0 nm, with the powers of which are around 1.6 W, are observed when the drive current of the laser diode is 6.0 A and the thickness of the etalon is 0.14 mm. Terahertz radiation at 0.72 THz could be achieved through photomixing of the two wavelengths.
