  • Abstract
The authors present a comparative study of the different control laws of PWM voltage inverter-fed asynchronous drives and numerically realise one of these laws for the purpose of position control. Control is performed indirectly by means of a flux estimator, since this is not an accessible quantity. The principle of mode separation has allowed the reduction of the system order, and has therefore facilitated the implementation of the corresponding program on a microcomputer. Furthermore, optimum position control has been verified through satisfactory flux control. In this way it is shown that an appropriate flux control guarantees a satisfactory torque control, and consequently the traditional application domain of asynchronous drives is extended to other fields
