Abstract :
This paper presents design and test results for a U-band Gunn voltage-controlled oscillator. A planar varactor tuned up the frequency of the oscillator is bonded on the substrate named duroid5880 with 0.254 mm thickness in fin-line circuits. A novel structure is employed to solve the problem of a planar varactor and a encapsulated Gunn diode. Experimental results show that the frequency of the Oscillator is from 58.2 GHz to 59.2 GHz within 30 V tuning voltage and the power output of the oscillator is higher than 25 mW.
