Abstract
The authors present an analysis and design of a brushless motor motion control system having a lag-network in the current loop. A mathematical model of the current loop is proposed. With the use of the model, an accurate transfer function of the PI controlled speed loop can be obtained and a finite-impulse-response (FIR) digital position controller can be determined. The predicted transient responses of the speed and position loops compare well with the experimental results
