  • Abstract
    Positioning information is helpful for guide system to obtain proper information in appropriate place. Based on the cell-based positioning method in wireless sensor networks, SNs not only cover the entire sensing field but also provide positioning information. In order to improve the robustness and reliability, a backup mechanism is presented in this paper. We deploy backup SNs in initial stage and modify a control message that is compatible for original cell-based positioning method. For a variety failure rate of SNs, the proposed method can effective reduce the unlocated mobile device that is within the sensing field.
