Abstract
There has been considerable research to develop new online monitoring techniques for detecting faults such as broken rotor bars or air gap eccentricity in induction motors. The author presents a set of current spectra which show that broken rotor bars or air-gap eccentricity can be detected in squirrel cage induction motors. The results are part of a long-term project on research into online diagnostic techniques for such motors
