Abstract

Consistent techniques for both two-dimensional (2-D) and three-dimensional (3-D) representations that can be adapted to the various contexts of interest in computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) activities are presented. These techniques are based on the study, implementation, and use of some academic prototypes in the field of technical drawing restoration and 3-D object representation and manipulation. The definition of the form features and icons adopted are given, and the formal definition for 2-D and 3-D indexing are introduced
