Abstract
This paper presents a way to bring augmented reality in the field of automation. By bringing augmented reality in the field of automation it increases the interactiveness in controlling devices and machines. Virtual 3D models are created using a modelling software and plugins are used to communicate from the modelling software to the devices to be controlled. The virtual 3D models are three dimensional objects that can be created and moved or rotated in a virtual computer interface and according to the movement/rotation of the 3D model the real devices can be controlled. Another aim of the project is to acquire data from the devices and according align the 3D models with respect to the parameters of the devices. Various techniques in 3D modelling, computer graphics and embedded systems are used to perform these operations.
