Abstract :
In this paper, how to transcode MPEG 4:2:2 streams to MPEG 4:2:0 streams in the compressed domain is discussed in detail. Firstly, the algorithm for accomplishing low-pass filtering in the compressed domain is formulated based on the properties of the DCT. Next, a theoretical analysis of drift introduced by the compressed domain conversion is carried out. Then analysis result suggests that the low order filter should be chosen for reducing conversion drift. Finally, experimental results show that our approach could produce reasonable performances.
