Abstract :
Since energy consumption is increasing in Iran, especially in the construction sector and also the cost of the production, transmission and distribution of energy is increasing, presenting techniques for the optimization of energy consumption is one of the most important present needs of the country. The main aim of this paper is to offer a documentary evidence for this high potential of energy saving in office buildings. Thus, through energy auditing of the office building of Electric Power Distribution Management in Malekan city, this facility was considered for its energy consumption and different techniques for energy consumption optimization were evaluated technically and economically and the best of them were proposed. The results show that the return on investment is reachable within a short period with considerable amounts of saved money that can be used for the development of the company. In addition, the energy waste solutions that are not economically justifiable at present will be justifiable in near future when the energy costs become real.
