Abstract
Smart-flow is an innovative process application mode which involves processes in our daily lives based on the Web services spreading over Internet and the pervasive interactions between users and workflow management systems. The dynamic features of pervasive environments and independent service providers do not allow any centralized control or repository. By combining rationales and techniques in several domains such as peer to peer network, workflow, service searching, matching and binding, a Web service based, true decentralized framework for smart-flow (DFSF) is introduced. Based on this framework, processes can execute smoothly without dependencies on any center. Experiments indicate that the framework can improve the reliabilities and flexibilities of process execution in pervasive computing environments.
