Abstract
Chattering is the chief defect of sliding mode controllers. In this paper, a novel sliding mode control approach based on fuzzy logic is proposed to reduce the chattering phenomenon. The superiority of the design will be demonstrated for a second order nonlinear system with parameter uncertainty. Simulation results show that the proposed controller provides excellent performance for chattering and error reduction.
