Abstract :
In recent years, the Disc-Type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (DTPMSG) has gained renewed attention for wind power generating system, due to its compact structure, good ventilation, high moment of inertia and efficiency. This paper proposed a novel disk-type generator with sandwiched structure, in which the coreless disk-type stator is arranged between its two disk-type rotors. A simplified mathematical model of the proposed generator has been derived. After that, three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) is applied for studying the performances of this generator and verifying the effectiveness of the proposed mathematical model. The analysis results demonstrate the feasibility of the generator for wind power generating system.
