Abstract :
Addressing complementary code keying (CCK) signal over frequency selective fading channels in wireless LAN systems, we consider channel estimation for CCK modulation in this paper. Since equalizers require multipath channel knowledge at the receiver, it is crucial to obtain accurate channel estimates in the CCK detector, thus to guarantee reliability in high-rate links. Introducing the multipath interference cancellation module and making the channel estimator and symbol detector as a feedback loop, we propose herein a novel channel estimation method, termed as multistage multipath interference cancellation channel estimation, for CCK modulation. The accuracy of channel estimates, extracted from the maximum correlation value in which multipath interference is cancelled, can be significantly improved in an iterative way. Corroborating simulations confirm the merits of our approach.
