Abstract :
SCTP is proposed by IETF SIGTRAN in order to transport PSTN NO. 7 signals over IP. In this paper, we compare SCTP with TCP, study its more efficient transport mechanism for NO. 7 and multimedia, stimulate and analyze the performance of transmitting MPEG4 video over SCTP. In addition, the other possible applications and prospects of SCTP are also described.
