Abstract :
It is important to develop investigative methods for nonlinear systems which are at least as powerful as those appropriate for linear systems. This paper is concerned with the construction of the phase portrait and methods by which one can interrogate this database to obtain a characterisation of the nonlinear system which generated the time series
