Abstract
A network Π has a state-space description, if the dynamic space 𝒟Π of Π is a smooth surface embedded in the configuration space ΣΠ of Π, and there is a well-defined ordinary differential equation on 𝒟Π describing the dynamics of Π. In the general case, one then has the problem of finding both the dynamic space and the dynamic equation of the network. In this report, the state-space problem in the theory of nonlinear networks is considered in the generalized context of the dynamical systems modeling
