Abstract :
Nowadays, one of the most compelling problems facing the IP Internet is IP address depletion. Network Address Translation (NAT) is a kind of efficient solution. This paper talks about the background of NAT´s coming forth, developing and its overview, several application schemes, and a realization of NAT under Linux operating system are also involved in this paper, and its advantages and disadvantages will be discussed.
