Abstract :
This paper investigated a novel variable frequency generation system, which was constructed by hybrid excited synchronous generator (HESG) and matrix converter (MC) for wide speed range application in distributed generations. Based on theoretical analysis on it, a control scheme which combined with both generator terminal voltage regulation and matrix converter grid-connected current control is proposed. The transfer function of the generation system is deduced to analyze system stability. At last, the validity of HESG-MC system and its control method are verified by simulations.
