An Integration System of Video-based Interaction and Online Negotiation in Real-time Processing of E-Commerce Order

In the real-time processing of e-Commerce order, a great deal of research focuses on man-machine negotiation. Because man-machine negotiation can´t satisfy the customers´ needs totally, we introduce the notion of online negotiation for human negotiators conducting complex e-Commerce negotiations. In this paper, we present an integration system of video technology into e-Commerce Web site. First of all, we design a business process and list the functionality requirements on the integration system. According to the analysis of this system, an explicit integration solution is presented. Then we propose a simple yet effective architecture for integrating video-based interaction with online negotiation process, and illustrate how the system supports online negotiation process by integrating HomeMeeting video software and e-Commerce Web site. Knowledge representation and reasoning mechanism of negotiation support are specified within the architecture. An Integration implementation is also provided. Finally, we present an example to prove that the integration system has greatly increased the efficiency of the online negotiation process.
