Abstract :
Different transmission schemes have different diversity and multiplexing tradeoff characters. Adjusting MIMO transmission scheme according to channel quality indicator (CQI) or channel state information will improve system performance. This paper proposes a new transmission adaptation solution depending on two-dimensional channel quality indicators with the aim to enhance system throughput performance. This is realized by using different transmission schemes, which support different data streams. We first implement our algorithm in single carrier MIMO system and then extend it to MIMO-OFDM system with practical correlation scenario. Simulation results show significant throughput gain compared to conventional fixed transmission schemes and conventional adaptation technique.
