Abstract :
Procedures to calculate the complex amplitude in digital holography are discussed. The determination of the complex amplitude in the hologram has been achieved for: 1-D input distributions along lines (e.g. straight arbitrary tilted lines and lines of elliptical shape); and 2-D distributions on an arbitrary oriented plane. The calculation of the complex amplitudes in case of a 1-D input distribution is given in form of an analytical expression as a phase distribution. In the case of a 2-D distribution the numerical procedure is based on the fast Fourier transform algorithm, a coordinate transformation in the hologram and the superposition of appropriate phase terms
