Abstract :
The San Francisco project is developing several shareable frameworks in Java. The frameworks include an infrastructure for distributed object applications, business objects that are common across multiple domains, and domain specific frameworks that contain a subset of the objects and business logic that are needed to build a commercial application. The goal is to simplify the move to distributed and easily customizable applications by providing developers with an object-oriented infrastructure and a starter set of well-designed object framework code for their applications. The paper provides an overview of the frameworks that are being developed
