Abstract
Japan Railways are applying an AC drive system to AC supplied trains. They first convert AC industrial frequency into DC with a PWM converter, and then convert DC in to 3-phase variable voltage variable frequency AC with PWM inverter. The authors propose new control methods of the converter-inverter system to suppress current beat of the induction motor and magnetic bias of the main transformer. And both of them have been confirmed by using computer simulation
