Abstract
This paper presents a model for solving machine conflicts in steelmaking and continuous casting production scheduling process. The model is set based on actual production situations, considering both start casing time on casters and device situations. It is a linear programming model that can be solved using software packages developed by us. The paper also describes the scheduling strategy of an intelligent scheduling system (ISS), the soft system is also developed and successfully applied to one large steel plant in China. An example demonstrate that the model embedded ISS is an effective as method.
