Abstract :
This contribution describes an iFix-based advanced control software platform. It provides an approach method to develop advanced control software on this platform quickly. It is either applied to simulation research, or to industrial plant control system. Every part in the platform communicates by OPC (OLE for process control). The main advantages of this approach are: (i) provides a good basis to construct the platform due to the standard interlink mode provided by OPC, and the real time database provided by iFIX; (ii) higher running efficiency; (iii) shorter development period; and (iv) easier to extend to adapt to various industrial applications. A platform application is briefly described. Experimental results obtained with the process simulated by HYSYS demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented platform
