Abstract :
The characteristics of potential distribution in grounding resistance measurement of an L-shape building foundation using straight-line-three-probes method are analyzed in this paper by numerical simulation when the measurement locations are different while the length of loop electrode lead is the same. The zero potential regions corresponding to allowable engineering measurement error range are also given. Simulated results show that the measured performance is relatively better than other measurement locations when the exterior convex corner of L-shape building base is selected. The studied results can serve as a guideline of important significance to test grounding resistance for large-scale irregular grounding system such as L-shape building base in practical measurement.
