Abstract :
According to the characteristics of harmonics generated by railway traction systems and the practical requirements for filtering in the system, some useful and important concepts (factors or ratios) are defined, such as filterability, reactive power distribution factor, reactive and negative sequence ratios, etc. Therefore, an optimization design method and corresponding algorithms are developed for multiarm single-tuning filtering and comprehensive compensation. These concepts are directly used in optimization design so the method is convenient and effective. As a preliminary application, comprehensive compensation performance in two feeding patterns is analysed and compared
