Abstract
In this paper, a mutual authentication model for m-commerce payment is proposed. Its key differentia from the existing protocols involving trusted third party in m-commerce is its characteristics of minimality, manageability, and single sign-on. As micro-payment authorization can be embeded in the authentication information or transmitted by the consumer himself via a secure symmetric encryption to the merchant, large-scale identity theft by credit card can be avoided.
