Abstract
In present work, the investigations of acoustic noise, emitted during friction of Hudfield steel specimens were carried out by analysis of distribution patterns of 2D Fourier power spectrum. Researches of 2D Fourier-spectrum images were performed with use of software for Fourier and wavelet image spectral analysis. Comparison of the numerical values obtained by the analysis of 2D Fourier and wavelet spectra have shown good correspondence with each other and with friction coefficient being registered. The interpretation of the obtained results on interrelation between acoustic noise parameters and character of wear process from a point of view of scale levels of strain and friction development is offered.
