Abstract :
With the current success of the TGV Southeast and the imminent commissioning of the TGV Atlantique, the TGV projects to be completed in France in the mid-90´s, will make up a real high-speed rail system. Here, the author describes the various construction phases of this system and reviews the methods used for the economic appraisal of the TGV projects. The other projects under consideration are also introduced
