Abstract
Integration of multi-axis coupled numeric control and online image measurement for curve grinding process was studied in this paper. In order to conquer the disadvantages of traditional NC curve grinding machine and improve machining precision, the integrated control system had adopted some new methods. Curve grinding mechanism was introduced firstly, three axes were added to realize normal tracing and automatic compensation. Then the configuration of servo-control system was also investigated. As is an open NC system, the modules in the system are separated. The NC system and online image measurement was integrated to user interface (UI). The detection results of image measurement were feed back to UI timely. NC determines whether grinding wheel should be compensated by axis-U and V. Finally, experiments were done to verify the performance of the integrated system. It has much higher machining precision than traditional NC curve grinding
