Abstract
The paper discusses the theory and applications of a type of network known as `time discriminant´ for the detection and demodulation of binary and m -ary modulated signals in communication systems. The research outlined in this paper is at present in its infancy and results shown are preliminary. Both computer simulations and hardware realisations are outlined
