Abstract
Electron emission from ferroelectrics is a new type of stimulated strong electron emission which is potential widely used as cold cathode. PZT ferroelectric grating cathodes is prepared by lithography technology. High voltage pulse was applied to the rear electrode, the ferroelectric ceramic polarization switch and electron emission from ferroelectric cathodes is observed. The effect of various experimental conditions on the characteristics and mechanism of strong electron emission from the ferroelectric cathodes is analyzed include ceramic polarity and the driving pulse shape. A feasible driving circuit is presented.
