Abstract
Presents and discusses a centralized DAMA system which combines a simple and reliable signalling protocol with quite short access times and very few resources wasted for signalling purposes. The performance analysis of this DAMA system carried out through the results coming from a simulation code, will shown on one hand, that the stations number does not affect too strongly the overall system characteristics in terms of access time when the total amount of signalling traffic is lower than a specified value; on the other, that this access system allows the greatest flexibility of the signalling network ranging from a completely random access to a fully disciplined TDMA (time division multiple access). The telecommunication system described only refers to the telephone traffic management, even though it could easily be applied to other kinds of services as well
