            Abstract :
We present the design of a novel, quasioptical gyro-TWT capable of producing 120 kW at 141 GHz- with 28% efficiency, 38 dB saturated gain and a constant drive bandwidth of 3%. The gyro-TWT utilizes an overmoded confocal waveguide with a tremendous potential for high average power operation. The amplifier is currently under construction. Ongoing experiments with an oscillator configuration have produced 81 kW at 136 GHz. A second harmonic oscillator experiment is also investigated.
