Abstract :
This paper analyses the power consumption and efficiency of the Step Recovery diode (SRD)-based Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) pulser. First, the working process of typical SRD pulse generation circuit is studied based on the parameter-extracted model. Then the factors that affect the efficiency performance and power consumption, such as the driving waveform and diode parameters, are investigated. SPICE simulation and experimental results are given finally.
