Abstract :
The state of HDTV satellite broadcasting and transmission experiments using BS-2b, and communication satellites is summarized. Due to progress in electronic technology, home-receivers associated with broadcasting systems having large scale bandwidth compression have become available at a reasonable cost, and HDTV broadcasting in the 12 GHz band has reached a practical stage
