Interfacing and signal distribution in component studios

The progress in television technology appears as a smooth transition between different systems with longer time overlapping periods. For component techniques of today, it is necessary to provide interfaces to existing CCVS standards as well as to future component systems with increased resolution (HDTV). Additional component-internal interfaces result from different signal processing techniques (analog/digital) and from the multichannel structure of component signals, only partially suitable for signal distribution. Some fundamental problems related to interfacing and distribution of component signals are covered. A new family of interface equipment is also described. The flexible concept allows for a step by step approach to components on a high qualitative level
