  • Abstract
The Broadcasting Directorate of Telecom Australia recently issued the latest in a series of working practices designed to protect people from exposure to excessive levels of RF radiation. The work practices aim to keep exposure of staff, contractors and the public to radiation as low as reasonably achievable, in addition to meeting the maximum exposure levels (MEL´s) recommended in AS 2772-1985. Complementary publications cover the identification of areas which may have levels of RF near AS 2772 limits, indicate methods of reducing the levels, and define measurement techniques necessary to ensure accuracy when measuring RF levels-particularly in near field regions where installation and maintenance staff may need to work
