Abstract :
In this paper, the dynamic closed-loop performance of a dc/dc boost power converter is analysed. The closed-loop system includes a new nonlinear dynamic control scheme that is developed to be independent from the converter parameters, the input voltage and the kind of the load. As shown in the paper, the proposed controller is capable of regulating the converter output voltage at the desired level for a resistance-inductance load which represents a very difficult load case to be controlled. The controller preserves the passivity property which is a fundamental property of the boost converter system, guaranteeing simultaneously an equilibrium corresponding to the desired output voltage reference. Simulation and experimental results verify the theoretical results and the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
