Abstract :
This paper reports results of a data collection and analysis project investigating electric power quality of two relatively small, isolated electric utility systems in Alaska. In this paper, second generation instrumentation is described and comprehensive data and data analyses are presented. In addition to power quality measurements, average power demand is also given for each of the two sites. Data described in this paper are compared with those data reported in an earlier study of remote Alaskan power systems and in a comprehensive report of power quality data obtained in the contiguous 48 states. The results described in this paper are potentially applicable to geographic regions world-wide having widely scattered population centers of modest size with isolated utility systems
