Abstract :
Digital interface stereo and digital audio tape are two basic building blocks for the broadcasting studio of the future. Odd though it may seem, it will probably be in television studios where they are first in common use together. The author looks back to see how these items have evolved, and how at last they click together so well. This is the great success of standardisation of the last eight years, which is as well, for digital audio, unlike analogue, cannot exist without standardisation
