Abstract
The Internet provides a new environment for a variety of applications to be developed for supporting educational and research purposes. This paper presents the implementation of a web-based laboratory experiments for communication systems using a dynamic spectrum analyzer. The proposed system is based on Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture developed for this purpose. SDR uses programmable hardware in order to implement more flexible communication systems. It is designed to serve students to display real time received signals in time and frequency domain remotely. The system is upgradeable to include new functions easily. Using the results obtained from this system, a student can analyze the received signal in time and frequency domain, display the spectrum and listen to the signal in real time. The proposed system tested and the results have shown very good performance even in the low signal-to-noise ratio scenarios. Experiment results demonstrate the efficiency of this system.
