Abstract :
We report two-tone third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) characterization of a uni-traveling-carrier waveguide photodiode which uses a horizontal taper mode size transformer to vary the optical confinement with length. Fixed confinement waveguide photodiodes are also characterized.
