Abstract :
This paper reports a method for evaluating circular locus for our target tracking upper limb training system. A simple device for upper limb rehabilitation of the senior cervical spinal cord injured patients is needed especially for use at home and neighboring medical institution, in Japan. We propose a joystick-type system for exercising a force-based onscreen target-tracking. To measure the performance in our system, subject´s error distance to the target was used. This time domain index is intuitive, however too delicate to the subject´s response at the beginning of the training and weak because of the visual feedback delay. To augment the scoring function, we propose to apply harmonic analysis which presents the precision of the marker locus in three measures. The method is tested by evaluating two cervical spinal cord injured patients´ results.
