Abstract
Middleware for wireless sensor and actor network is hard to design because the leverage between the hardware limitation and system complexity. Complex event processing middleware for wireless sensor network is proposed to solve this dilemma. The system utilized the computing power of the network nodes to reduce the network communication data, so that it can save the nodes´ energy. The events processing queries are split into server queries and nodes´ queries, so the real-time events are processed on the node locally. Because some of the urgent queries are processed in the nodes locally, so the real-time performance of the system can be increased. The energy saving and performance gaining are roughly evaluated to illustrate the advantages of the system. The future work about the study is discussed as well.
