Abstract :
The author addresses how software can be managed in acquisition and support by applying the concepts of capable software processes, continuous improvement of the processes, and robust system design. He maintains that software processes must be defined, disciplined, and repeatable. The processes can be continuously improved through employee involvement and measured using credible metrics to provide insight into the process. The focus of the process is to produce robust software that performs as expected when needed
