  • Abstract
    The aim of this paper is to explore the concept of insect-eye as a concept to be applied to robotic vision, particularly for the internal inspection of pipeline systems. Limitation and difficulties of current using cameras for pipeline inspection are described and analyzed. Design of the insect-eye visual system is proposed to solve limitations of current single camera. Mechanical structure of insect-eye visual system, software requirements of insect-eye visual system, image data processing and transmission for the visual system are given in details
